demoncasterouter
Hey guys! It's been a while!A friend of mine got this letter in the mail today, wanted me to check on it. With no communication with this company yet, she received this letter out of the blue (no validation request or anything w/ this company yet):"Dear Mrs. Smith,It has become necessary for this office to conduct a thorough investigation with regard to your assets and property ownership."The rest is just a typical CA letter, w/ mini-miranda, etc.. Call me rusty, but if I'm not mistaken that sounds like "threatening action that cannot be legally taken", even if she hasn't requested validation from them yet......right????? Or am I just too rusty now?
nevermore
I believe (not positive) a CA can check on a persons assets and property ownership. But there would be no point unless they were going to attempt to get a judgement or already have a judgement. It appears to be threatning legal action which is not legal unless they are able and intending to actually do so. Is this still w/in SOL?
demoncasterouter
Yeah, it's within the SOL.....so maybe she should lay low????
