efish
First, I want to say that I, like many of you, found this site while searching the web, but I had been playing the credit fix game for about a year prior to that. But since I found this site I have had wonderful results. I had no idea just how wonderful the results were until I went through the mountains of credit reports I had been pulling and started looking back to the first ones from January this year. Here goes:EQ- 3 Charge off, 3 collection accounts, 1 foreclosure, 2 public records, 1 late paymentEQ- 2 Charge offs, 2 Collection accounts, 1 late payment, 1 foreclosureTU- 4 Charge offs, 3 collection account, 1 late payment, 1 foreclosure.I went through a nasty divorce when I was young and it destroyed my credit, I am now almost on track. Just wanted to share a success story that it is possible with persistence! I disputed and disputed and disputed. I did it months apart, so I never received the frivilous letters, I was very fortunate it. None ever reappeared either. Just stick to your guns and keep on truckin'.Have no idea what my scores started out as, I believe they were low 500'2, my fakos on PG are now:EQ 636EX 624TU 676I do know myficos are higher.... breathing_easier
Sounds like you and I started on the credit repair journey about the same time, in April 2003. I, too, am seeing the fruits of my labor and isn't it a great feeling? I have a ways to go in getting several paid chargeoffs off my reports, but I feel confident now, not discouraged as I did in the beginning. gprncss
Here here! , me three I too found this site just in time in Feb 2004.Since then, I have had all my collections accounts removed(12). I am down to the original 3 charge-offs that started this whole mess that I allowed myself to get into and their 7 years is up next year Those are the only negatives left on my CRs to tackle. So far I'm having no luck removing them from EX and EQ I just got approved for an Orchard card last month, hadn't applied for CC in over 5 years Just added another TL to my CR from Dell today I am so much wiser now about my credit, KNOWLEDGE is POWER!!! breathing_easier
I am so much wiser now about my credit, KNOWLEDGE is POWER!!! That has become my mantra. I sometimes think perhaps what our real mission is is passing along what we've learned about credit and FICO to others, with credit repair being secondary. If we can keep others from making the same mistakes we made then we've accomplished something important. I really think there should be a course in high school, or even middle school, about finances and credit. They teach kids how to care for a baby, bake a cake and build a birdhouse, but nada a word about how to handle credit wisely and responsibly.
