Installment loan

A credit score is based on LONG credit histories so the longer the better.

As for immediate results, the answer kind of depends on other factors. Like, how many new accounts do you have, new balances, inquiries, etc.

If there is too much recent activity, a six month payment history may have negligible impact.

Incidentally, banks love one year installment loans and often give the better rates to them.

They will bend you over for a three or four year installment loan.
