AMEX question...

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any info for future usage?

Is it worth it to go for a amex?

Do they report to all 3 CRA's?

Do you have to pay off thier basic "GREEN" card every month like long agao?

If you've been approved, please say what state, CRA pulled and your score at the time!

An overall CS opinion from the bug green!

Thanks!

they report correctly.

the sign and travel works like another line of credit, but it has the option of pay off over time (i think its @ 14.9%) its like a back-up if one month you cant pay your 'green' bill in full.

i use my 'green' for everything i can, mainly because returns and billing disputes are much easier with AMEX than anyone else, and i get miles :)

Ed, if I were you, I'd look for another card. The green card isn't worth a darn thing. You have to pay annual fees, you have to payoff the balance each month, and don't be fooled, there is definitely a limit, they just don't tell you upfront what it is. There are plenty of other cards out there that gives you rewards/mileage, with no annual fees, that tells you upfront what your limit is, and that you can pay off overtime at a better rate. Skip Amex green if you can. Or, better yet, just skip them altogether... they don't deserve your business.

BTW, your Eagles kick a**! I've given up on my Deadskins this year... :(

Well, at first I didn't know I had one. About 4 years ago, I charged some of my wedding expenses without any problems (about 10K). But then, one day a couple of years later, I charged a $100/night hotel room on it and got declined because, I found out later, the purchase would have made my charges for the month to go over $3K. So the f*** what? I was never late on any of my payments, and I thought there was no limit! I was told later that each card does have a limit, but it's not pre-set! They have the discretion to periodically change your limit based on your spending habit, income, etc. There was no change in my income, but yes, I didn't use the card as much as I used to. But so what?? Why wasn't I told about it? Why did I have to go through the humiliating experience of having my card declined? At the time, I had been a member for about 8 years! I cancelled my card immediately, and never looked back. Amex sucks!:evil:
