rickmetal37
due to my lack of insurance (medical) i had a medical bill for $1000,3 years old, i was very ill and unabled to pay,the hospital didnt give any information to apply for state or federal programs to the uninsured.they ignored me. the CA called and i explained them my financial problems and they ignored me I am unemployed and getting disability payments, they filed a suit anyway, i called and i offered a 20 a month.payments.they agree right away, send me the papers i signed and kept a copy for my self. They have to notify the court about this agreement and the court has to notify me???They charge no interest but charge for the court fee $32.So, if i dont pay, they take to court again, is that right? help please
workinninetofive
I'm not an attorney.. but if you signed something saying you would make payments.. I don't know you could later dispute the debt. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I have a lot more sympathy for medical reasons. =( I would say you should ask for proof regardless. They could take you to court for not honoring the agreement. Maybe you could try saying you thought it was something else. You should ask this question under the attorney forum. They are very helpful. Good luck to you.
