schellmis63
I had an account with an OC this account went delinquent and CRAP1 picked it up. Now I vew my CR and they have their own entry, just like it's a new account. Even a new date opened. What can I do about it?I know validating it is a start. Also any actions can be taken against them?
Leadhead
Not sure what you mean by Crap 1"picked it up". Are you talking about Crap1's program where they issue a credit card account based on a defaulted CC account with another creditor or trying to be collected by a CA? Did you sign up for it? Or is Crap1 now in the CA business? A little more info would help us In any event, the date opened is irrelevent. It's the date of last activity (DOLA) that governs the reporting period. This date is supposed to never change, however sometimes a debt's reaged (given a new DOLA)...this is against the FCRA.
schellmis63
They purchased the account that was in default, which now makes them the CA. I never recieved another card from them. I was contacted by their CA and i agreed to make payments. I never recieved any collection letter from them. I was stupid, did not know nothing and I started paying them. Now since they are not the original OC but a CA i know that they do not have to report payments but this looks like a total dead account. The amounts are truncated also. The original OC has this amount 1,023 and now Crap1 has 1,032. So they look like diffrent accounts. I know that this is eligal.. has to be.. but I just don't know how to go about fixing it.. and also I stopped paying the CA/Crap1's CA because they have failed to validate the account 2 times now. I just want to know who i am paying and I never recieve a monthly statement.Any clues on what to do?
Leadhead
I would first dispute it with the CRA's. I'd also DV both Crap1 and whatever CA they're using.
