bluealex915
I have a recently paid in full a state tax lein from Utah. I have sent the tax commission two letters now asking them to update thier credit reporting to show that my lein has been paid in full but I never get a response from anyone there. My first letter I sent in was not addressed to anyone specific, I got nothing back. My second letter I actually addressed it to the attention of an accounts supervisor but yet again, nothing. I really need this lein to show that I paid it off. It is like noboby there will answer me or read my letters. I need to show that this is paid in full so that I can get into a house by Febuary. I mean, aren't creditors supposed to report the true and actual status of an account, and if when notified by the consumer they continue to fail to correct the consumers credit report are they in violation of the FCRA? Let me tell you, the last thing I want to do is sue the Tax Commission, all I want is my credit report to be accurate in regards to this tax lein.Anyone got any suggetsions on this one................................ DocPC
Have you disputed with the CRA's?
bluealex915
I did the " not mine " thing a year ago and they came back verified. I was hoping to have the tax commission update it but that is not seeming to work. I am going to include the tax lein in my CHOD disputes this year and see what happens from there. retmar
If you don't have it corrected by the time you meet with your lender, just make sure you have all copies of your proof the lien has been lifted, such as your cancelled check(s), and statements and receipts showing your payments equal the balance showing on last statement sent to you. What should happen then is when the credit research is being done, the person working your file may call you to do a 3- way with the State. At that time, it will be proven the debt is clear. Then, when the research is completed, the proper paperwork will be included showing the lien is lifted and result in the TL being updated properly.I will say that during CHOD, go ahead and file a dispute, but, be careful with doing it for the same reason. I would challenge the TL as being paid and lien lifted, but, request total deletion if no response. Another thing to do is to call the State and try to get connected to a Supervisor you can develop a relationship with. Ask them to send you a letter clearly stating the lien is lifted and the TL is to be updated. If you get this letter, then send copies of this letter to the CRA's and get it done.
