Josh Mcgrath
Damn privacy guard doesnt give complete account numbers. (dont get your reports from Equifax!) Is it okay to send a DV letter without an account number? Or a partial account number?
willingtocope
IMHO, its best to just send them a copy of the last letter they sent you. I wouldn't provide anymore info than they already have.

Recovering Attorney
I've used the 1234xxxx that privacyguard gives you and it has worked. The point is to get inaccurate stuff off your cr, and if that means giving some ID info to those who need to respond to you, well...
creditech
Dude, don't send a DV with your account number on it! You are after all nothing but a modest least sophisticated consumer...make their job to validate as hard as you can...the harder you can make their job, the better the chance that they will violate. My DV's never had account numbers, social security numbers, driver's license numbers, state identification numbers--nothing but name, address, and phone number. workinninetofive
How sucessful have you been without using the acct #s? You had to go all the way to court though, right? I think giving them info like an acct # they can't provide info for just makes the cra delete it... am I wrong?
