terri888
Hi, I spoke to TU yesterday re a dispute and they told me that as of Dec 1st the dispute time allowed will change to 45 days - in line with the FCRA????? Has anyone else heard about this. It seems it would favor CAs greatly. Good reason to get as many disputes as you can in before then.
Methuss
No. That is not true. The FACT Act simply clarifies what is already in the FCRA which is 30 days + 15 if the CRA gets information from the consumer during the investigation period."(3) REINVESTIGATIONS - Notwithstanding the time periods specified in section 611(a)(1), a reinvestigation under that section by a consumer reporting agency upon request of a consumer that is made after receiving a consumer report under this subsection shall be completed not later than 45 days after the date on which the request is received."
