Is PrivacyGaurd a good source to begin repairs?

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered. I have been using PG to access my credit reports for about a month now. I keep seeing conflicting information as to whether PG keeps accurate, up to date info and scores from all 3 bureaus. Therefore, in anticipation of my upcoming credit repair process, do you think PG is a reliable and accurate source to use or should I request individual reports and scores from all 3 bureaus?

Thanks,

Julie

PG is o.k. I find that they are in the ballpark. I haven't had a whole lot of variations on entries between reports. The scores are questionable but a ball park. I've had scores vary from 1 to 24 points from my real scores, but the actual entries haven't had much variations on mine. I like it because I can pull a report everyday to check and I get notices if something changes. I found that it eases my mind a little if nothing else, because I can check everyday without it costing so much.

Good luck in your repair effort!!

PG pulls the report. It may yake 24 hours for changes to post. When an update is made, I get an email letting me know immed. I sbscribe to www.mycreditkeeper.com which looks like the same company.

You should periodically get reports from the actual big 3 just to verify your stuff is coming off.

You're safe dispting from PG, as long as you have the full account #'s.

Transunion's actual report as full account #'s. The other two dont (in my experience).

Thanks! Has anyone else ever felt when they took their first steps to disputing it was like you were getting ready to walk off of a cliff? xshotx

Another question....

Is it better to write letters to the CB's and send them via snail mail, or is it okay to use internet forms to dispute as Experian has? About 6 weeks ago, I did use their online form to dispute about 6 collection accounts (I think they are the only CB that you can dispute online with). Of those, just 1 came off and didn't really seem to help my rating, and I thought perhaps the form created limitation on what you could verbalize in a letter.

I think you are going to get mixed responses on the online question. Some people like them and some don't. One advantage of sending the letters certified is that if you ever have to take a CA or CRA to court you have a stronger paper trail then if you had done it online. And you can dispute with all 3 online, it just takes some digging to find where. CSC, from my experience, is one of the more difficult ones to find.

I agree with rdahlke1105 that you'll probally get mixed responses on the online dispute process. I personally like the snail mail way, though I have tried the online version just to see. I like to have my little green card as proof. Also, there is always the hope that they will ignore you and not respond within the 30 days the first time which is violation, and increases your chances of deletion a little bit.

Privacy guard and my credit keeper are 1 and the same. I already have a pg membership but thought hey! I could try my credit keeper for a month just to see. if nothing else an easy way to pull more than 1 report a day. I was going to use the same CC that I used for PG, and it told be an account had already been established using that CC. So, I cancelled my order and went to the sign in page when I put in my user id and password it sent me to the privacy guard homepage. They are the same just for further reference.
