anti-something
well, just so y'all know. we got to over 700 by me being completely anal about paying bills on time for the last 4 years. before i came along DH paid, but he wasnt always on time, he always waited for final notices etc. even tho he got his electricity cut off several times by delaying payment, it wasnt a case of not being able to pay, just irresponsible behaviour. Ravenous Wolf
well, just so y'all know. we got to over 700 by me being completely anal about paying bills on time for the last 4 years. before i came along DH paid, but he wasnt always on time, he always waited for final notices etc. even tho he got his electricity cut off several times by delaying payment, it wasnt a case of not being able to pay, just irresponsible behaviour. There is absolutely nothing anal about paying your bills on time.Sometimes, people who pay their bills on time and are responsible with their finances are looked upon as being weird, anal, or just plain dorks.Every time I am careless because I get a late fee or an NSF charge, I get mad at myself instead of at the system. Not only do you get a terrific credit score by exercising good credit behavior, you save yourself a fortune by not having to pay late fees, overage fees, reconnect fees, NSF charges, or anything else like that. For a few people, that could be an extra few hundred dollars in a year that is never taken out of their pocket. anti-something
i agree completely Rav, DH calls me anal, i think it just makes good money sense.when i first took over the finances and DH was trying to tell me it was ok to wait for the final notices i went and added up what all the late fees were costing him, showed it to him (it was over $1000 a year) and asked him what he would rather do with that money, give it away like he had been, or actually get to use it and spend it on himself and his new family.he said, ok, you do it your way then
