jedi
Hey all. Thanks to the great help I found through this forum, I sent out my first DV today. It ended up costing me almost $5 to send a letter with return receipt and certified mail. Is it necessary to do both to "cover my a$$" per se?Thanks!
DocPC
Both.
consumercity
I agree with DocPC. I would definitely use both. The "green card" is solid proof that your DV was received by the CA.
Recovering Attorney
I normally use first class/certified, because you can get an online report at usps.gov that shows when you mailed it ( which is the point of certified mail) AND when it was delivered. If a mailroom boy at Citibank is signing the green card, who cares? It is a bt cheaper and less combersome, and w=you might even be able to print the postage/label online, which is doubly cool and convenient.
