lucyricardo
I sent a no bond certificate to Equifax and a letter, also, one to Sherman and Equifax wrote back stating they couldn't use the information I sent them and Sherman didn't respond. What do I do now? This is for a CO CC from 2001 DOLA, with collection fees, they say I owe about $4K. THANKS

jordanmorganusa
I'm wondering about this myself. Please explain...
Yikes
If this is in Texas...The Secretary of State will issue a certificate of no record at your request, this shows that a particular collection agency is not bonded in the state as per the states requirements. zerwas
So does this mean that if you live in TX and Sherman is trying to collect on a debt ---- they have no legal right to collect on this debt? If so do you suggest attaining "a certificate of no record" and forwarding a copy of this to them and informing them to stop their collection activities along with removing their entry from a credit report? Yikes
That is correct, if they do have the required bond registered with the state of Texas - they have no legal right to collect in this state.I am not sure of the best way to take advantage of this as I haven't had the opportunity to do so myself, but that sounds like a good idea. You may want to wait for some more experiences opinions though.
