Why the change in my FICO score

I checked my report from all 3 credit bureaus at the beginning of the year - with a score around 680. I checked it again this last month - nothing has changed (i'm wanting to buy a new car) and my score is 580 at one place and the highest was 650 at another.

Nothing has changed. My credit reports are the same with the same information.

What gives?

Are you sure it's ALL the same? No new accounts (even good ones)? No balance changes in your existing accounts? No new inqs, like rd pointed out? No bad accounts updated?

Did you pull from myfico.com both times?

The easiest one to miss is the balance change. Say, when you pulled your fico the first time around and you had a 680 with 10% utilization....then you pulled again with 95% utilization....that would make a HUGE difference. Especially if ALL your cards had that big of a balance or if you only had one or two and they were charged up.

My credit card limit increased to 2500$ and I only have a balance of 150$. I do have a new loan with no late payments..

There is nothing negative on there so why would it go down.?

My utilization is 45% is what the report says.

I have 2 loans. A student loan which I owe 400$. Another loan that I owe approx 500$ out of 1600$ and my credit card balance...

You know. I really dont trust these 3-in-1 reports. Ohhh. And about 4 months ago I paid off my car loan with the 1600$ loan (lower interest rate) and my bank stated my credit score was 710... So I went to see about getting a new car - yeah right - they were pulling a very seriously low number then...

Now go figure that one........

I am believing this is all a scam - this fico stuff.
