confused1
Is there any way to deal directly with the OC if an account has already been charged off? It's almost been a year since I made payment to the CC company and now I can pay off my debt to them in installments. I want to be able to pay them off directly and not deal with the CAs. 2 CAs have already contacted me regarding the debt and DV letter will be sent in the mail tomorrow. Only hoping... Leadhead
If the OC merely contracted with the CA's to collect the debt, you should be able to deal directly with the OC.However, if the debt was sold to a CA, then you must deal with them. gprncss
To add on to what "leadhead" said, I had no luck with the OC cause my charge-offs had been sold.Good news though, I DV'd the CAs that were reporting them and got them all deleted from my CR . So now the only negatives I have on my CR are the charge-offs, which fall of next year

gprncss
confused1,Closed TLs (good or bad), Charged-offs, or unpaid collections will stay on your CR for 7 years (+ 120 days) from the DOLA (Date of last activity). DOLA: This is usually the last time you made a payment on the account. That is when they fall off naturally.ofcurse if you can get the CRAs to delete the negatives long before then even better!! confused1
How could I get the CRA's to remove the negatives on the CR? Thanks for all your help everyone!
gprncss
send a letter to the CRAs dispute it as "not mine", or "paid before charge-off", or...the first one usually works.
