rattar33 Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Hello, I'm new, and I have a few questions. My first question is I have 3 credit card accounts that I settled with and they left a negative remark like settled for less - c/o. I there anything that I can do about those? I don't have anything else bad on the report infact I have one account that I am paying as agreed. I'm trying to establish new credit in addition to this one but everyone is turning me down due to the negative remarks. Please assist
ciscoguyinkc Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Welcome. You have to go through the normal dispute process. You know, dispute the accounts as "Not Mine" with the CRAs. if it comes back verified, then try good will letters to the CA. If they fail, then try to find inconsistencies, FCRA violations, etc. Get in the mud with the CAs, get nasty, get bloody if need be. Do it like they do it.1. First call is a warm, friendly sounding person who just "wants to help YOU"! HA!2. next call maybe the same person, but is less than cordial.3. Calls and nasty letters. Name calling, threats.4. Almost lies. What all can happen to a deadbeat. More threats. So, you can start with good will letters, but end up in court. T
