gravelgirl66 Posted November 26, 2004 Report Share Posted November 26, 2004 Help!I disputed an account with all three bureaus, and the OC sends me some Lame letter for completing the "id theft and fraud"I only stated "acct. not mine" and they send me this:Dear Mrs. XXX,We are writing to you in respone to the recent notification we recieved disputing this account.The FTC has develped a form for consumers to use when they suspec they are victime of fraud or identity theft. This form is enclosed.In order to begin our investigation, we ask that you complete the form and return to:Credit-Dept Disputed Acctsever heard of such a thing in your life? DocDon Posted November 26, 2004 Report Share Posted November 26, 2004 That's why you don't dispute "not mine". It doesn't work any more. They'll send you the fraud claim form or verify as "yes, it is".You have to state something along the lines of "do not recall doing business with this company", "company does not look familiar", etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
