prokrg Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Does anyone know of a way to force a creditor to remove 30 day lates from a credit report? I'm not talking about goodwill letters or cra disputes, I want to know if anyone has any stratagies to fight these lates like we fight the collection agencies?
DocDon Posted November 26, 2004 Report Posted November 26, 2004 Ask for a payment history / statements and compare them to your records..... ?Found a couple lates being reported by Providian this way that were previously "verified".
prokrg Posted November 26, 2004 Author Report Posted November 26, 2004 Thank you-Were you successful in getting the lates removed?
DocDon Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Oh yes. Especially when I confronted Providian with the "proof" and said they were in violation of the FCRA for reporting false information.
prokrg Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 That'e great that will help in one case. How about if you really were late an tricks or angles to use?
DocDon Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 I'm not aware of any. GW / nutcase letters seems do fine. The goal is not to "scam" your way to good credit....
prokrg Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 Everyone has different philosophies,my experience and those of many others is that creditors,ca's and cra's don't make it very easy to work with them when you have legitimate problems and errors, so why should I not mirror their attitude in return and use any means necessary? To win the war you have to be warlike.
DocDon Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 Not what I meant. I meant there is no way I know of to dupe the OC or force the OC into changing legitimate information.
prokrg Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 I wasn't being argumentative and I very much appreciate your help.
DocDon Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 It's all good. Didn't mean to come across like I was offended.
