Hello

I am sending my dispute to the CRA's tomorrow and I need some help- I filled out their forms by listing the account infomation and then wrote in the other reason area- CA will not verify debt. I thought I read that I should not check off the box not mine. Can someone please help me with this stupid question.

Thank you very much

Anything is better than "not mine" in my opinion. "Not Mine" leaves the door open for too many reponses. "Yes, it is" and fraud questionaires are the two biggest reponses for using that phrase.

:hmmmmm:

Okay, please tell me if I am losing it, but most of the advice I've been given so far (mostly from this site and members of) have told me to always start with "not mine". Then if it comes back verified you would move on to something like "incorrect dates", "never past due", etc. Please, please elaborate!

I know you've been given "not mine" as a good dispute from this site. I used to give it myself. However, things change. New tactics and strategies come along to counteract the changes being dumped in our laps.

"Not mine" disputes are coming back with declarations of ID theft, or simply being returned "yes, it is". Used to work, doesn't seem to be working as efficiently as it used to.

So, instead of "not mine" which is a powerful declaration, "not familiar with this account" is a better alternative as is "do not recall doing business with this company".

susanp: In doing online disputes, I always select "other" and write in the dispute... ie "debt cannot be validated"
