rdahlke1105
Its been my experience that with the online apps (the ones that tell you if you are approved or not) if they say that your app needs further investigation, you can count that as a big fat denial. cabledude
That is not necessarily true as I applied with AMEX expecting instant approval and I got the 7-10 day message. I was approved two days later with a $5K CL. So you have a 50/50 shot. In any case there is something in your CR, to them, that warrants a second look. gprncss
kbstitch,I applied for a providian visa on line and got the same response. sadly I got a "we regret we cannot offer you credit at this time letter ..."I had the card before, and closed it. Only had one late payment on it, that didn't seem to pop up in their history log to make a difference in their decision.
ceowens
Hate to add to the bad vibes.....but.....I applied online tonight...without a pre-approval letter.and was instantly approved for $2000 CL. The "letter in 7 to 10 days" thing doesn't sound so good.

Guest jeeptravel
For Target, HH, and Cap 1 I had to wait the 7-10 days. I was approved for all. They probably want to verify info such as address or employment.congrats!jt

What were you scores and higest CL showing?Just pulled PG this morning. I *thought* (based on my approval) that they pulled TU (my best). But, they didn't. They pulled EXP. My FICO is 664 with 2 old collections in dispute with Assett Acceptance and a 2002 CO from MBNA. My highest limit was $12,000 on an account that was paid in full and closed last month (had no choice but to close it). My highest OPEN CL was $950 (HH Gold). So, I'm really confused as to why they would approve me based on this particular CRA.
cabledude
They pulled Experian on me which is 688. I have no heard anything from them. I think they have denied me as from what I hear most approvals come in a few days.If they have denied me I think it is because my wife defaulted with them in 2001. I hear that they deny folks that live in the same household with other family members that may have defaulted on them? In any case I found out about it in 2004 when I really became intersted in credit. The account had been sold to Palisades. I actually negotiated a settlement with them for $0.60 on the dollar. I could have possibly gotten more off, but after a dozen letters I threw in the towel as I have better things to do.In any case if they declined due to this I will definetly try for reconsideration as I am the "good guy here"...... Good luck.
