beju_moon
I sent a vallidation letter to a collection agency and I also sent dispute letters to the3 cra's. Anyways I recieved a letter back from..Im not sure to be honest and I cant find the envelope. Letter is a typed invoice from the CA and the usual Consumer Dispute Verification form from Experian. Just looking at this, it doesnt seem like its proper verification/vallidation of my debt. The original contract is nowhere to be found not even my signature and the invoice attached to Experians's verification form is from the CA. Its a typed letter from the CA saying they own the account, theres no signature, no copy of the original contract, no copy of the contract between the OC/CA. Im wondering what type of letter I should send next? Oh SOL hasnt ran out yet but the debt is for 96.00 so Im not too worried.Thanx in advance oh and the debt was never listed as disputed on my credit reports. LadynRed
Not listing it as 'disputed' an FDCPA AND FCRA violation. There is NO WAY that what you got was proper validation and your next letter has to tell them exactly that. Its a pretty pathetic attempt but is fairly common. If you look in the sample letters, you'll find an example of a letter to use next. You should also look up the Wollman FTC opinion letter AND the Spears v. Brennan case, both go to what is proper validation.
DocDon
Can I type a letter saying I own the debt? That's a thorough investigation? I think not.....
