luckyduck
It really depends. Sometimes better online, sometimes better by mail. Mail gives you a hard paper trail. I think the results of any dispute will vary depending on who gets it, and what mood they are in.
miracle
If you are participating in CHOD.. mailin CMRRR is the only way to go. You can do your disputes online.. just make sure you print off the page that says it has been sent and recieved by the CRA. Any follow up like reinvestigations or PR's need to be done CMRRR. The most important thing is to have a solid paper trail whichever way you go.
bluealex915
It is really personal preference I think. I would recomend snail mail if it were up to me. I just like having that hard proof right there in your hand such as a certified mail reciept form the post office. Another additional peice of info that might help you is when you send a CRA a letter certified you can then log on to the postal services web site and print off a confirmation page for your records. I have tried the online disputes and they have never worked for me. Although some folks have had great luck with it.Thanks................
hendu
I am one of those who has had tremendous success with online disputes. It's so much easier for me because I'm on the computer, it seems 24/7. Just make sure you do what Miracle suggested in the previous post......print off the page that says it has been sent and recieved by the CRA. I got TU and CSC with an ITS letter. They deleted items because of a non-response issue. My proof was that printed page! Good Luck!
teresa9394
how do you dispute online? go to each CRA's website and dispute it there?
hendu
yes.. go to the websites and you can do request for an investigation. The only thing is with EXP and EQX you have to have a copy of your credit report that was purchased from their websites. TU and CSC you can request without a copy of your credit report from their websites. For example, you may have a tri-merged report pulled from a mortgage company or something like that.
