mzjazzyazz Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 2 of my collections account were returned to the same OC. Now, when the CRA verifies these accounts with the CA, they will have to delete them because they no longer have the accounts. Right? I have signed letters saying that I owe them nothing and they are not handling the accounts, so technically there is no way they can verify this to the CRA.Is that an automatic delete?
willingtocope Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 Its not automatice, by any means. Technically, if the CA did report to your CRs, then, yes, they are reporting incorrect information and are violating the FCRA. You may, however, have to dispute this info with the CRAs to get it deleted. If it comes back "verified", then you've got grounds to sue for FCRA vioations. And, if you send the CRAs a copy of your signed letters, then you could probably include them in your suit.
