I called Experian today to find out what my results were for my dispute on Pacific Gas and Electric. They said that the status is unchanged and I still owe $200. I spoke to the collections department for PG&E and they told me the balance is 0. I also went to the Customer Service Center, they too told me the balance is 0. The collections department told me they would mail me a letter saying what the balance is.

Where should I go from here?

Should I sent a PR letter to Experian? What should I do?

PG&E told me they would only update account to paid in full. I want it delelted!

The likely hood of them deleting the tradeline is slim, because PG&E still has records of it. If you had owed a balance, then you could have offered to pay it for a delete.

You most likely outcome is to send them a copy of the letter stating a zero balance. The CRA will update. Then, a few months later you can dispute as "not mine" and they may automatically delete it because it's paid.

Unless you negotiate a settlement, its very hard to get new tradelines deleted.

The thing is that the Customer Service center told me that the account has been paid since 09-03. That was over a year ago. They shouldnt be reporting that I owe them something if I don't. Wouldnt that be considered reporting false information? Is that grounds for deletion?

Ugh! I have been having fits with PiGE it's really the only last thing I have left to dispute, they never sent me a closing bill, or I don't remember it anyway from 1999. I found it on my CR and made contact, long before I found this board, and paid it. Now since they haven't reported it accuratly, and even today it appears as "in collection as of 12/04" grrrrr they are beginning to tick me off. I dare say I got on the war wagon today, after speaking to their rude service people. I mean com one, I paid the bloody thing, why won't theyat least report accuratly.

Today I filed complaint with the FTC CA AG BBB and the CPUC. Maybe that will get their attention that I really am serious ? <crossed fingers> I hope anyway. My next step will be AG for Oregon where I now live and an ITS leter. Perhaps file complaint where I did, in such a short time, maybe that will really get their attention ??

I sent their collection department a demand for deletion letter because they verified false information and this is illegal. The rep even told me that the Credit Bureau called and she told them that I still owed them money when in fact I didnt. What she said was "our records werent updated at that time". I havent heard from them yet, I will be checking my PO BOX first thing tomorrow morning.

Wel, I puled my creditkeeper tri-merge today and my Experian and found PG&E finally reported their account accuratly at least, showing in good standing and paid . :) It's about time, only been like 7 months of battle here.

Thing I can't figure, my fako went down again, and it's impacting hight again :( but oh well, at least it is showing paid now on one, still shows 120 days past due on EQ though

i got a letter in the mail yesterday saying that they transferred the balance of my old account to my moms account in ERROR and credited her account and now I owe them $165 bucks. I think they did it to CTA (cover their a**) because I told them they were in violation of the law by veryifying inaccurate info.

I still have the letter that says I owe them nothing, but they sent a new letter saying I still owe them.

What should I do?

What about trying this approach.

Tell them you were trying to pay them any outstanding balance that you owed but they stated that you had a zero balance. Since they made an error you will meet them in the middle........You will pay the $165.00 and they must delete the account from your credit report.

Well, it seems I got their attention with the BBB filing, haven't heard from the AG for CA, or the CPUC just yet, but at least some rep is willing to "research" it.

Can you believe she actually called me "ostatious" for asking for delete, even though they refuse to report accuratly? I've come to the conclusion that PG&E hires mostly rude people that treat you like crap just because you paid the fool thing.

I am about to send them a letter and let them know that they are truly unprofessional and they wont get a cent from me until they agree to delete the account.

You know, you are right on there, everybody I've spoken to is less than polite, The person that called me yesterday kept bringing up th fact that PG&E waited for so long for payment, I need to be just a patient with them while they sort the reporting out. I doubt they will delete, but at this point I'd be happy if they would report it correctly since a paid collection that old wouldn't hurt me, but this one does.

Hmm, perhaps a classaction ? I'm sure we can't be the only ones having issues with them.

I filled a compalint with the BBB, which Emily Barnet of Public Relations department contacted me in less than 3 days from filling this complaint about their reporting tacticts.

She has actually been one of the most pleasant people I've spoken with at PG&E. She is working with me to get the accounts to report correctly or deleted and being rather nice about it.

I'll pass her ph number, but it didn't come from me :) 209-932-6515

very nice person willing at least to look into the problem

good luck with that. i'm sure they will respond well to threats.

Yeah, probably about as well as consumers respond to collector's threats eh?

yes. neither collectors , nor debtors respond well to threats. thats why i have advised against that several times on this board.

(afterall, that was my point, wasn't it?)

If you are asking me what your point was, I really don't have any idea. Good luck figuring it out.
