creditcardcory
Here is the response I received today from Capital One to my nutcase letter regarding an account I cosigned and paid in full as soon as I was notified of its deliquincy:Thank you for contacting our offices with your letter dated November 11, 2004. I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.A review of our records indicates that the account referenced above was applied for via internet. The email address used as verification is as follows: XXXXXX@msn.comRespectfully, we would not be able to remove the account from your credit bureau report. We are required to report all information accurately to all three credit bureau reporting agencies. However, we did update our records to report the account with an R9 paid in full rating. We were able to submit that request once we received your payment of $1,021.22 on June 8, 2004.I sincerely regret any inconvenience this situation may have caused. Please be assured this was not our intent. Feel free to contact me directly at 1-800-955-1455, extension 451-6440 with any other questions or concerns. Sincerely,Erin MartinExecutive OfficesCapital One Services(I've included her name as a contact for everyone sending letters to Capital One. Let's give her a very busy holiday season)This is what I asked her for:I must demand that the validation I hereby lawfully request be in the form of a notarized statement by a person with original knowledge of the debt as it was constituted and who can testify that the debt was incurred legally, was not subsequently disputed as a result of returned, faulty, or recalled consumer products, was not utilized as a profit-loss tax deduction during the period it may have been payable, and was not claimed as a loss with any insuring entity during the period it may have been payable.Any suggestions on what I should do now? workinninetofive
Well you can keep writing the goodwills.. until hopefully you get lucky. In my experience, the big companies sent me the same form ltr. A small town bank was the only one who revised.

direred
If any of you have a fax number for the executive offices, I'd appreciate it. I'd like to let them know their lawsuit is enroute.
miracle
I am confused.. is this reporting as paid in full with or with out deliquencies? I am guessing it is with deliquencies. You may want to try and write a good will letter and see if that will do anything.. Couldn't hurt....
creditcardcory
I have written 3 GW letters prior to sending the nutcase. All ended with a phone call to me that everything was reported correctly. That is when I decided I needed to send the nutcase. I have been reading through prior posts to find information and I have run across two references to Bill Bauer's Knockout Letter for paid chargeoffs;however it did not have a link. Does anyone know where this letter is posted?
direred
I thought I'd mention this:Calling the 800 number given in the OP's post without the extension DOES get you to the executive offices at Cap1. Very handy.
