Ivory
To anyone that can help....I had a judgement entered against me in June of 2001. In September of 2003 I received a Satisfaction stating that everything I owed was recovered. It basically states that acknowledgement of full payment and satisfaction and consents that the same be canceled and discharged of record. 2 credit bureaus show the judgement, but don't show them as satisfied. My questions are should they show them as satisfied and is there any way to get this removed from showing on my report? Thanks in advance!! flacorps
Has the satisfaction been recorded in the same clerk's office where the original judgment was recorded? (Check for clock stamps, OR Book and Page # on the copy you have, or contact the clerk's office)

flacorps
You could dispute off old addresses. Then dispute the judgment as "not mine".If that fails, flyspeck the judgment tradeline on the reports and dispute any inaccuracy you find (plaintiff name, amount, date, etc.)As a last resort, provide the CRAs with copies of the satisfaction. Ivory
Sorry if I seem a little green, but can you explain dispute off old addresses? If I send a copy to the bureau what happens then?I'm new to this credit dispute business. Thanks
c m chase
The first thing you want to do in the clean-up process is dispute off any old addresses from all the CRAs. This way, when you dispute something else later as 'not mine' they'll look and say "ohhh, well, the addresses don't match and she's never had an address like that" and it's more likely to get deleted. Once you get the addressed deleted, send a dispute letter saying "this judgment isn't mine". It may very well come off that way. If it doesn't...come back and we'll show you more tricks of the trade. flacorps
Oh, you might want to make sure that the satisfaction was recorded in the right county, right registry, etc. Mistakes do happen.
