This one was my fault, so I don't mind paying the full balance. When we moved across the country I forgot to change my wife's cell phone plan from regional to national, hence the $1000.

Funny thing is that it is being reported twice on her credit report as a collection and there is no question that it is the same account. Should I write them a letter offering a settlement with a restrictly endorsed letter to remove all credit reporting?

Just want to make sure that I don't just pay it and then get screwed.............

I'm no expert, but here is my thoughts

I heard over and over a PAID collection account is just

as bad as a collection account.. Did not seem right that

a paid debt would be as bad as an unpaid one.

They are both negitives on a credit report. There is no

middle ground it's bad or good.

Best part is a paid delete is gone! But get it in writing!

theis board and a few others have many. many helpful

letters to write for this.

Get it in writing that if you pay this debt it will be removed

from your report within a certian timeframe. Don't admit it's

yours and correct just you will pay it for a delete.

Just my thoughts as it worked for me many times.
