mzjazzyazz
Safeway turned over my bounced check to a CA. That CA has not responded to any of my settlement letters. So today I called Safeway and they gave my the address to where I should mail the payment for the check. Now if I pay Safeway, would that elimate the CA from collecting and would that account on my credit report have to be deleted. I was thinking about getting a cashiers check and inserting something like" upon cashing this check, the debt will be paid and deleted from consumers file. What do u think? DocDon
You should write a letter and get their (Safeway) agreement to recall and delete the collection from your reports upon receipt of payment.
mzjazzyazz
So wait until I get the response back before I send the payment?
DocDon
That's what I would suggest. Write in your letter that payment will be immediately forwarded upon receipt of their letter agreeing to delete for payment.
mzjazzyazz
So what will happen is that they will pull the account back from the CA after my payment is received? Safeway is not reporting it, the CA is.
DocDon
Safeway contracted the CA to collect on the check. Safeway can recall the collection from the CA.
