LearningCredit
On page 202 of the book "Good Credit is Sexy" it states that there are only 5 reasons why someone is allowed to pull your credit:(1) Firm offer of credit (from a creditor with whom you applied for a loan or credit card)(2) Firm offer of insurance(3) Employment(4) As directed by a court order(5) The government can pull your information under the new Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act of 2001 for counterintelligence and counterterrorism purposes.MY QUESTIONS ARE:A collection agency recently pulled my TransUnion credit report and thus resulted in a "HARD" inquiry on my report. What permissible purpose do they have? What defense do I have? Can I sue the collection agency? Should I threaten them to remove it immediately?
