Jeep 2005
Did I do something wrong here? I paid off a remaining balance for an old credit card using a restrictly endorsed letter sent via certified mail. They, Citi, cashed the check and even sent me a letter stating that they would remove the negative scoring. Shouldn't one or both of these paper trails force the CRA to delete this off of my account? itsgettingbetter
If Citi wrote you a letter stating that they will remove the negative reporting--that is as good as gold. I would send a COPY of that letter and the envelope it came in (yes--I save the envelopes too--they are very good evidence to the fact that I did not create the letter myself in microsoft word).if you have it in writing from Citi--you should eventually be able to make them live up to their agreement. (sometimes correct reporting/updating just takes a while. I just paid a settlement the day before Thanksgiving--and it is not reporting paid yet--but it probably just needs time to update.)
