I know I have asked this question before about disputing online with the CRA's and the verbage used in the explanation boxes that is provided with each dispute but I met with a credit repair service and they had told me that they use special verbage in those boxes depending on the type of account they are disputing and the credit bureau's they are disputing with and that Experian or Equifax(Ican't remember which one)you can only dispute 11 items but they said also you can go in a back door to get more than the 11 of coarse they would not share how and now I am wondering if I should just let them do it or if someone out there can verify if what they told me was correct.

Would like anyone's help and input

If you would share with us the name of the credit repair service, we might give you more detailed info...but...

Almost all such companies are scams...you'll wind up in much deeper than if you do it yourself. Many of the companies are actually collection agencies in disguise. They "settle" or "fix" debts for some of the CCs because they're actually paid by them to do so...the ones that don't pay them, get ignored and you wind up being sued.

Be very very carefull...

Thank all of you so much that have answered so far you have given me more confidence and I need that.

So Far I have only disputed to 1 CRA TransUnion and one of the ones I disputed was a charge off with a High Balance of 315.00 and a remaining balance of 215.00 and it came back like this just today High balance 315.00 remaining balance 215.00 and an ending total balance 3156.00. Looks like a typo to me and I am not sure what to do next any suggestions?

Read the sticky at the top of the forum that spells out the steps in debt validation. Your next step should be a letter to the OC and "procedural request" that asks how they arrived at that number.

Your letter should be strongly worded (not beligerent, but firm) pointing out that it is against the FCRA to report obviously incorrect data. Computer printouts don't make "typos"...humans that input the data do, and the data on the report is coming from the OC.
