Geekguy
Have a few debts that are outside of SOL. Recently recieved a summons for one of them from Unifund that I will be using the SOL as defense. I was not sure if since the debt had bneen transferred to a collection agency if the OC could at some point give you a 1099 on the debt so that it would be considered income for tax purposes. LadynRed
Its highly unlikely you'd get anything from the OC after so many years, surely they no longer own it and cannot issue a 1099. The 1099 would have to be issued for the tax year in which the debt was 'forgiven' .. its unlikely they'd issue you one that is years old.
