Cap One late fee -- can it be reversed?

Hello and happy holidays -

So I had not made a late payment on my Cap One card since it was opened 01/02. But this month, I accidentally overlooked it (HONEST!) and paid it online a day late, after being whacked with a $29 late fee.

I've already had an overlimit fee reversed more than 6 months ago (I can't remember if it's been a year). Any input and/or strategies before I give them a call and ask them nicely to reverse it?

My apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Thanks as always!

I had a similar situation with Capital One, when I moved . I called and notified Cap I when I saw the tradeline in my credit report. Sice I have always paid perfectly, I notified them that the months reported late had been due to a move, etc. They send me a letter saying we are sorry this happened, etc. credited my account for the $29.00 multiplied by two and send the notice to all three CRAs.

Hint: I called and follwed up by written letter CMMR.

Hope this helps.

Michelle

Actually it turned out to be no big deal. My payment date was Friday 12/24, and I paid on the 26th. I politely told the customer service rep that a bank cannot have a payment due date on a federal holiday, a Saturday or a Sunday -- which is a banking industry guideline, but I don't think it's a strict rule. He saw that I haven't had a late pay since the acct opened, so he reversed it.

It's like returning merchandise at Best Buy or Fry's...whenever I expect a hassle, there is none.
