Gryffindor
I've been told that the only way to catch them on reaging is by the DOLA. Since EX doesn't show the DOLA we're out of luck. But, EQ does show the DOLA. I'm waiting for a new report to come with the EQ results from this round of disputes. If that date has changed, then I've (or in this case) we've got them! From all of the reading I've been doing, this seems to be EX's way of penalizing people for disputing items on their credit report and may not necessarily go as far back as the OC. jordanmorganusa
I'm having MAJOR problems with Household as well. Household and their collection agency...
Ngstone
I called Household today and told them EXP reaged my chargeoff date and was told they would fax me a letter showing the correct chargeoff date. With that, Ill redispute and see what happens. Equifax did not change the charge off date, it just came back as "reviewed".

After you get over your shock and stop coughing up phlegm you'll be comforted to know that there's no re-aging going on here. Since you didn't put the Date Opened, we'll just have to assume it is Post 7-99 FCRA, in which case the dates in red can be used as the date certain to determine when it will drop off, instead of the charge off date. Of course if you push it, you can get them to use the DOLA instead of the charge-off date.
Ngstone
The problem in my case is that by changing the Charge Off date to 12/2004 (from 9/2002), makes it look like a recent derog and my fico took a dump of 40 points . I would suspect yours did the same.
Gryffindor
Did you check your EQ report to see if they did indeed change the dates? I'm still waiting on mine. I think I'll never see the results of my disputes with them at this point.
Ngstone
EQ came back as "Reviewed", with no changes on dates and no change on that score. EXP came back as "Updated" with the change in my chargeoff date, which again KILLED my score from 657 to 609!!! I called Household's Charge Off division and had them fax me a letter showing the correct charge off date. My mortgage guy thinks this might be enough to get it removed on a rapid rescoring, or at the least raise my score back up to where it was. I plan to redispute AGAIN and AGAIN with the letter until this crap falls off.
jordanmorganusa
Reaging is a major violation. The FTC just got $1.5million from NCO last year for that. Do not take it lightly...
