CreditChallenger
Does a TL's DOLA reset to the discharge date of a CH7? For instance:If a GE loan has a DOLA of March 2000 and a CH7 discharges in March 2005, will the DOLA of the GE loan change to March 2005? Thanks,T
Gryffindor
No, I believe the DOLA is still the date of the 1st missed payment.Let me guess, you've had tradelines that the DOLA was changed to the BK filing date? Are you sure you are looking at the DOLA and not the date of status? I think EQ is the only report that actually shows DOLA.
CreditChallenger
Thanks for the reply. No, I have not filed BK. I am trying to get this question answered before I make any decisions.
CreditChallenger
Does somebody know for certain what the answer to this question is?
LadynRed
The date of last activity should remain the same. If an account is current when you file, then the filng date becomes the DOLA. If an account is delinquent when you file, then the first delinquency date MUST remain the same as that is the date used to determine the 7 year reporting period. If it gets changed, you must dispute it post-discharge.
