morrow
So I got an offer from my BOA Alaska Airlines Platinum Visa offering me 5% APR on all balance transfers for the life of the loan. So I decided to ask for an increase so I could transfer my existing 9.9% Patelco loan that carries all my CC balances on...did it online...and to my surprise they gave me a $5000 CLI taking my limit from $6000 to $11000. Best part is...they didnt even put an inq on and it took all of 10 seconds to get it.Sweet!

credithelp
Does boa usually approve with mid 600's score?
tarbaby
yep. my score was in the low 500's when i was approved. so your's s/b fine. they use transunion to check the credit.

TylerDurden
Upon reading your post, I tried to get a CLI online. However, it keeps giving me a message that they "can't verify my information at this time, please make sure my info is correct". I kinda have my BOA card by default, when they bought Fleet recently. Maybe that's a factor? I have a 15K CL at the moment, perhaps that's also a factor? I was hoping to increase my CL to improve my utilization... nativechild48
Bank of America is not taking all of Fleet Cards. Some of them have been sold to other banks. I never ask the new credit line increase function, I always find it more beneficial to speak directly to Customoer service or accts. managers. For others wanting to apply try:www.bankofamerica.com
TylerDurden
Mine was definitely bought by BOA. I got a new card with their logo and everything. I'm just bummed that I couldn't ask for the CLI online. I'm afraid if I call them, they'll do a hard inquiry on my CR...
tarbaby
they may be able to look at your account to see if you are able to get an increase without pulling your credit score. it doesn't hurt to ask.
TylerDurden
Okie dokie, in case anyone is in the same boat, I just found out why I couldn't do the online CLI. Although my Fleet card has been converted to a BoA card, I cannot yet use their online system until March 22. That explains why I kept getting error messages. score booster
I know some fleet accounts were sold to E*TRADE.
