fixcredit1
I have started getting letters from attorneys for credit card debts. They are offering to settle the debt, and I will do that because I can't pay in full. Since the letters come from attorneys and not the creditors or collection agencies, do I ask the attorneys to remove the listing from my credit report/remove negative credit report information/paid as agreed? If not, who do I ask? Thanks
LadynRed
Chances are pretty good that these 'attorneys' are nothing more than collection agencies themselves. Use the same process you would any collection agency. You always want to negotiate for how things are reported to the bureuas, no matter who you're dealing with.
