MortgageLO
I can offer a little bit of advice. Even with substantial charge offs and judgments, I have been able to get unsecured accounts from the following companies...all owned by GECC I think....ExxonMobil gas card, Wal-Mart, Lowe's. Another good one if you can stomach the interest is Dell. I think all of these have been mentioned in the past, I know. Lowe's has been awesome. Scores in the high 500s approved for $800...raised to $1,300 less than 6 months later just by asking (with a hard inquiry). Oh, and never charging more than a couble hundred bucks and quickly paying it down.
Tourniquet416
what score do you have to have for a Dell? i either want that or a BestBuy card, something i'd actually enjoy using.
credithelp
The bestbuy is probably easier to get. If i remember correctly it is handled through houshould(i could be wrong though). I've had an exxon card for four years now and it has been a good card to have. The interest rate sucks but every issue i have had was dealt with over the phone with the first person i talked with. Cards like the exxon, walmart, lowes, are through monogram bank which is a part of ge.

DocPC
Montgomery Wards is issuing credit cards for their online store.Seems they approve damn near anyone. All you have to do is order anything and choose payment of their card, that's when you apply. You will get an order confirmation instantly and the approval for the card the next day.Not sure who they report to yet.www.wards.com

JENDELA1
Who does BestBuy pull from? I have deferred student loans on all my reports and a car repo from 7/04. What kind of score should I have?Could I apply for one?
Guest jeeptravel
If your loans are deferrment, they do not affect your credit score. The lates are what bite. If you have no BK, the best vuy is fairly easy to acquire. 600 and up. Maybe even lower.
JENDELA1
I just disputed a few items on 1/25 on experian and 2 items on TU ON 1/31. Should I wait until I receive info from the CU before applying for a bestbuy card?
Guest jeeptravel
If your FICO's are above 600 you have a pretty good chance. But it's up to you. I would do it now and then if you are rejected you can send a good will letter along with proof of your credit report disputes being succesful. But that's me D
CleanUp81
Just a possible reminder to those of you that have a Orchard Bank card, but I remember that when I received my Orchard Bank card which is Household, they mentioned that as long as you have the OB card you can not have another open credit account at the same time through household. If someone could double confirm that it would be even better, I just figure it might help some people avoid a hard inquiry if you can't have two accounts.
