mzjazzyazz
I am curious to know which creditors will allow you to re-open an charged off account with them after you pay the balance of the old account. I was on Credit Boards and a few of the members said Macy's will do it. Does any one know of any other creditors who have similar programs. edubb007
Very hard to tell. I know HHLD bank never does. As far as I know anyway. Maybe store cards and I believe it would depend on how bad your were late, multiples or one bad run.
victornewman
Foleys does, or at least they used to. About 10 years ago, I was able to re-open and only had to pay 50% of the charged off balance to re-open. Started with 100.00 credit limit and they kept raising the limit. Within 2 years, I had a 5500.00 credit limit.I am almost positive that JC Penney's does not. They told me no anyways.Mervyn's does, or at least they used to. Similar situation as Foleys. Mervyns contacted me and offered this option. As for Foleys, I contacted them.
