kimberley276
First off, Hi to all. I've spent probably 15 hours in the last few days reading through all the info here. My brain is reeling, stuffed full of info, and I'm gratefull for all the great stuff here. I've got all my credit reports and have written out a plan of attack for each negative item on each report but there are a few items that have me stumped and I was wondering if you all would offer up your ideas on how to deal with these things. I have a ford account that I'll be disputing with Never Late to 2 CRA's but the third CRA has the same 30 day late as the other two but also shows 4 months of CO's. The CO's occurr right in the middle of the reported period with ok's on all the months before and all the months after (except the last month reported.) I'm not sure how to dispute this, I know we made all those payments, and made them on time so I'm not sure what to say to the CRA. Next, on my Equifax report I have three accounts listed with "Pays as agreed" but when you look at the 81 month payment history it shows late pays. The late pays aren't mentioned anywhere in the text, they're only shown on the little calendar at the bottom of the account summary. Should I dispute with never lates or let sleeping dogs lie, as the text shows paid as agreed and none of these are listed in the Negative account history.Last, I have several accounts not listed negatively, but they say "account cancelled by credit grantor". Is that considered negative by lenders or should I just leave those alone. Thanks so much in advance!!!! Kim
willingtocope
Kim...welcome...sorry you've been left hanging there without a reply. You've asked some question that are difficult to answer with a simple "do this, do that".First off, if what you're saying is your have a Ford account that lists "charge off" in the middle of the reporting history, then I'd suggest writing Ford directly saying you've just noticed that that they are apparently reporting incorrect information in violation of the FCRA and you'd be pleased if they'd correct it. Polite for the first letter, a little more demanding if you have to write again.I'd leave the late pays alone, if EQ doesn't show them as negative...and the same thing for the closed accounts. You might take a look at your FICO scores and if they're in the mid to upper 600's, consider yourself good to go.Is there some particular reason you need to deal with this stuff right now? kimberley276
Thank you for answering. My husband and I want to buy a house later this year or at the first of next year, our fako score is in the low to mid 500's so I'm trying to clean up our (his) credit so that it will be possible to purchase a home.Besides, I was looking for a new hobby... Credit Repair seemed to fit the bill.

willingtocope
From what you've told us so far, the Ford thing is probably the worst. Write Ford, and see what happens. I assume you do have some others that you're already working on....good luck!
kimberley276
*sigh* Actually, ford is the least. We have a 2 yr old BK to deal with as well. I wanted to preserve the ford account though because it had several years of good payments. Thanks for the help.
willingtocope
Okay, then what you really want is all the appropriate accounts to be listed as IIB, $0 balance. With a BK, the lates are probably not hurting much at all (at least not compared to the BK). If there are any CAs on your reports, then a DV to them saying validate or go away might help. And for any OCs not saying IIB, write them directly and tell them they're violating BK laws...
ladyblue65
With Ford,Please write and ask for a copy of your original loan. Not MicrofilmA lot of companies including Ford after 9-11-2001 lost all the original paper work (that you signed) and can not validate the debt. The only way I knew about this one is my friend deals with ford motor and stated that they lost thousands of original loan papers. If they can not send you a copy of the loan, they have to forgive the loan and send you your release paperwork on this loan. Also a lot of home mortgages are the same way. All they haev is micro film and it will not stand up in court.Has to have origninal signature on it.
