CLM
My first line of defense has always been to dispute. You may be able to have the item deleted that way. However, if you choose to settle, make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing. Make sure you have a letter from the company stating that the item WILL be removed from your credit report once the debt is paid in full. The following post may be helpful:http://debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24698&highlight=settlementGood Luck!
