gonefishin_bebackltr
This started out as another question I had but has evolved a little so I thought I would repost as a new topic. Thanks to those who replied previously, you helped me realize some things. I recently signed up for privacy guard and with the subscription recieved a new 3 in 1 credit report. I have two accounts that have been charged off (Capital One CC $749 and Verizon Wireless $36). Previosly both accounts had a closed status on with all three bureaus. Now, equifax reports both accounts as OPEN and the two year account history with all "ok". The Capital One line goes even further. Previosly showed a "high balance" AND "past due" as $749 with all three bureaus. Now, past due is still $749 BUT high balance is only $127!! I can't figure out what could have happened. I disputed both accounts a few weeks ago but the dispute was not with Equifax, it was with Experian, which is reporting the same, so I don't think that would have anything to do with it. I had sent both accord and satisfaction of debt letters in December. I have never heard anything from either company or bureaus. Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks for your help!! miracle
Did you send everything CMRRR? (just checkin)Dispute with the CRAs ... esp with equifax... I don't see how a "charge off" could be open?!?! They did the same thing to me with a charge off I have and I am still battling them. Morons! I will let ya know if I come up with anything successful on that one!
jq26
gonefish/miracle,I spoke with someone at Equifax about it recently. They actually tried telling me it is scored as a closed account with a 0 balance even though it clearly says that its "open". I had 5 discharged accounts, all 5 are CLOSED with Exp and TU. Yet all 5 remain open with Equifax even 3 months after a BK. This might be why my EQ is by far my lowest score. Good luck with them. They are morons. I went back and forth with her on the phone just trying to ask her why it says open on my report. She just kept saying, "Sir it is closed. Sir, it is closed..." like a d*mn robot!596/606/
