ladyblue65
Just remember that even though the SOL is over they can still come and get her.ExampleUnder $50.00 misdemeanor theftOver $50.00 Felony theftCompanies are doing this now. It is starting to look like CC companies are starting to do this. Why?They have found loop holes in the laws.
DocDon
Please post where you found a NSF check is considered a misdemeanor or felony as opposed to the presentation of a fraudulent check. Also, any information supporting your statement that CC companies are going after people criminally for non-payment outside of fraud. divemedic
Some years ago, I seem to recall that Virginia did so. When I was stationed there in the Military, we used to get pen pal letters all the time from women in local jails and I seem to remember a buddy getting one from a woman who was incarcerated for bouncing a check to the CATV company. That was in '90 or '91.No further details, sorry.
DocDon
Yeh, if it's fraud. There's a difference between writing a bad check, and writing a NSF check.Writing a check out of a closed account, for example, will not only bounce, but come back as a closed account - hence, fraud and arrest....
