coolcreditchick
I have scoured the site and found some good letters but need to tailor my letter for my situation. I want to DV the CA but the letter I found starts with:(This letter is being sent to you in response to a notice sent to me on September 30, 2002). Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( that your claim is disputed and validation is requested)How do I word it to send to someone who hasn't contacted me by mail in years? I am afraid to edit it too much and then lose the legal warnings with it. Any help is appreciated.
DocPC
Edit it to say "after reviewing my credit reports, I noticed your entry", blah, blah, blah....
coolcreditchick
Wow- I am embarassed that the solution was that simple. Thanks for your quick response. I think I got too overwhelmed with the details and forgot to think it through.
