karrieh
Hi, i just found this forum searching for some help fixing my credit history. My husband and I are in the process of trying to buy a house. He is navy and has to go overseas for 2 yrs alone. We thought it best if I moved close to my family while he was gone to help with the kids. After trying to get a home loan through his insurance (usaa) he was told that my credit had some things in collections and was turned down becuase of it.This is my 2nd marriage and I was never allowed anything to do with the money before , with my frst marriage. We didnt even pull my credit report to look at it until this happened. There are several things on my credit report that happened while i was seperated from my ex husband, that I knew nothing about. i have started to go through the process of writing letters to the creditors and to the agencys(only shown on experian and transunion- not on equifax) I don't even have account numbers for these items, and some don't even have addresses for the place of business. Almost all of these are from 1994-1998.Can anyone give me any advice on what else to do to help fix these things on my credit report. Im afraid it has ruined our chance of getting a house, as we were supposed to be moving in june.I appreciate any help any can give.thankskarrieh
LadyButler
Almost all of these are from 1994-1998.Opened as late as 1998? Or went into collections in 1998? Some of this stuff should be falling off your report soon... Check your dates... and if the CRAs are reporting outdated accounts... get 'em!
