Hello,

I would appreciate some feedback on the following item. Does this really work?

How To Unconditionally Force Credit Bureaus To Quickly Give You The Advantage By Placing Positive Information Into Your Credit Report

According to Federal Laws enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), if a credit report results in a debtor's application for credit being denied, that person has the right to add information that will show a more positive credit history. All you have to do is contact the credit bureau of your choice and ask them to contact a list of banks, lenders, or other creditors whose names you will provide, for the purpose of having the credit information they provide on you added to your credit file. there may be a small fee, but the good news is that you will practically be able to force a credit reporting agency to improve the substance of your file by putting positive entries on your credit report.

The only businesses you should list are those with whom you have had a flawless credit relationship with. Contact the people on your list and let them know a credit reporting agency will be calling or send them a questionnaire. After information has been received and verified, the bureau can add positive items to your credit report.

I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this.

I have a positive auto TL that is not being reported on EX even though the lender says they have submitted it multiple times.

I also have an excellent CitiFinancial TL that is not reflected on any of my reports. Citi sent me a letter saying that they had reported it to all three bureaus, and they gave me permission to use the letter as evidence of the reporting, but when I mailed copies to the bureaus, they refused to do anything.

Is there any way to encourage the reporting of positive TL's?

That's the FCRA they're talking about, and you can add a 100-word statement to your files.

A CRA is not going to contact anyone on your list to add them to your file, nor are they obligated to under the FCRA.

I think this exact topic was brought up a few weeks ago... but I didn't see how it ended up... :?

Yeah, I'm with you Doc. I don't believe you can force the CRA's to add any information, positive or negative to your CR.

As I understand it, the CRA's make their money by reporting credit for various businesses and agencies. If a company wants to report on their system, they must pay the CRA's for the listing of the TLs. Therefore, if this were true, you would be forcing the CRA's to work for free.

I'm certainly no expert, but this sounds inaccurate to me. Where did you see this? Is this some "credit repair company"?

Just my 2 cents worth......

Hello,

I've read SOOO many postings re: credit that I don't remember exactly where I found it.

One interesting side note, though. I called two previous mortgage companies yesterday, and they agreed to add my wife's name to my mortgage history (even though we weren't co-applicants). The folks just filled out one of those universal data forms, with m wife added. We'll see what happens.

Also,

I recently got Citibank to change me to "Paid as Agreed", and while the information has been immediately updated on my wife's CRA reports, it is not showing on my three CRA reports. It's like mine have been blocked, ever since I disputed. Is that possible?

Thanks.

I have heard many times in the past that you can have the CB's add positive trades. It has been my experence that they only accept info from subscribers. Even public records info is gathered by companies like Prentice Hall that are under contract to collect and report that info.

They only report what is given to them from information providers. If you have a TL that isn't reporting, contact your credit grantor and talk to them about the reporting of your account. Talking to the CRA is a waste of time.
