LadyButler
I think I read somewhere on these forums that you shouldn't sign your DV letter... something about CA's lifting your signature or something. Anyone care to expound?(I'm about to send my DH's letters... need to know whether or not I need to snag him for signatures before he walks out the door for work.) willingtocope
Signature isn't required to make the letter official. And yes, there is always the chance that a CA will scan the sig and call it valid. As long as you include a copy of whatever they sent you so they can identify the account in question, it should be sufficient... coolcreditchick
What if you are sending it from the info off the credit report. i am about to DV a CA from yrs ago and all I have is the acct number. Is that enough?
miracle
It should be.. Reference the info on your report, but I wouldn't suggest signing it if you are sending it to a CA. It is up to them to prove that it is yours, not nessesarily up to you to prove to them that you don't owe it (that is.. unless you can)
LadyButler
I hope it is. I must have gone on a ruthless "trash it" spree because I can't find any correspondence from one CA... I'm currently revamping my filing system as penance. If you've got the account number, I think that should be enough. They'll have your name and address because you'll put it in the letter. Name, address, and account number- I'm sure accounts have been "verified" to CRAs on less information.
