chatter2960
I paid a settlement on a sears account on January 14, 2003. This paid the account and it was to be reported as settled.Sears is reporting 30, 60, and 90 days past due from January 2003 to January 2004. I disputed this with them on 11/29/04. I received a letter on 12/7/04 saying that they had reviewed the information reported and they "found it to be inconsistent with our information." They said they had sent necessary documents to credit bureaus for the report to be corrected.I just checked my transunion, and it is still wrong! I have disputed to transunion, but i wondered if it my be a shot writing to sears and screaming FCRA violation. I thought I might be able to get the whole tradeline deleted that way.Opinion? Please hurry, I would like to mail a letter today. Thanks!

divemedic
If you have the settlement in writing, you could sue for breach of contract and deceptive and unfair trade practices.
