Valkyrine
From: http://www.boe.ca.gov/proptaxes/faqs/generalinfo.htm8. What is the property tax rate in California? Proposition 13 limits the general property tax rate to 1 percent of the assessed value, plus an amount for the debt service on any bonds approved by popular vote. The tax rate will vary depending upon where the property is located. You can obtain exact tax rates for a particular parcel by contacting the county auditor’s office. If you know your parcel number/location, you can call your county's auditor's office and they will tell you. I have had very good luck with their office when I have needed help. Hope this helps. Good luck.Val

Lil Smurfette
Property tax is usually roughly 1% of the purchase price. The cost of our home was $274,000 and our property taxes was $1,900.00 plus $175.00 for supplemental taxes.
