Paladin_Roden Posted February 13, 2005 Report Share Posted February 13, 2005 A company by the name of Search America is doing a Hard Pull on my credit reports. They have done so six times in the last three months. I had no clue who "Search America" was and why they would want my personal finicial information and to pull it without my knowledge or consent. Anyway, I did some research on this company and found out they are a database gathering company used by collection agencies to find people in order to collect a debt. Now all my debt on my credit report is zero balance, or until I started having problems with NCO after I DV'd them about a paid account from an old medical bill that my insurance paid. Is anyone else having a problem with "Search America" and hard pulls from the credit reports. And can they legally do this to me, because it seems they are going to continue to Hard Pull my credit reports as many times as they want. I sent a CCRR letter to all three CRA's disputing these Inquiries, but so far no luck in getting them to take them off and getting them to stop doing Hard Pulls on my credit report. Any help would be great.Edit: I also sent two CCRR letter to two known address for Search America, on that is provided on my Credit Report and the other on there website. flacorps Posted February 13, 2005 Report Share Posted February 13, 2005 Skip tracing is the name investigators give to the process of finding people who aren't able to be found easily. People who "skip out" and leave no forwarding address or valid phone number, etc.I've had SearchAmerica soft pull me because DW went in for a bunch of expensive medical tests at Labcorp. Your instinct that the hard pulls have to do with NCO is probably right. It's getting so much easier and less expensive to dig up dirt on anyone. A few years ago skip tracers had to be hired to locate debtors often for hundreds or even thousands of dollars, however, now for about fifty dollars and Internet access your whole life is now an open book!
